We'd like to share some important information about COVID-19, the disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus. We have been keeping current with new developments and are actively taking steps for the health and safety of everyone at Canaan Church.

Governor Newsom advised modified restrictions on gatherings for many sectors, including houses of Worship. We want to let you know what this means for our Sunday gatherings.

For some of us, this level of response might seem like another overreaction.  For others, it might not seem strong enough, based on what we’re flooded with on the news, our family experiences with the virus, and the death of some family members. Regardless of your thoughts, the reality is people ARE STILL getting sick, people ARE STILL spreading it, and some people ARE STILL dying as a result.

Beginning this Sunday, July 14th, we're inviting you to our ONLINE ONLY gatherings at 11am. You can join us on Facebook Live or on our website at www.canaanchurchla.com. We'll continue to update you about future plans by text, phone call, social media, and on our website.

We ask that you:

• Pray! We believe in the power of prayer for healing, protection, wisdom, and provision. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

• Hold a watch party! You may not be able to invite people into your house, but you can invite your friends, family, and community, and join an online gathering.

• All regular midweek and weekend programming will be streamed live on our social media platform. Join us on Thursday nights at 7pm and on Sunday at 11am.

• Stay connected! We want to stay in touch to give you encouragement and to share updates. Follow us on social media and update your information in our database.

• Stay faithful with your giving.  We have had much noise and confusion surrounding this season, it can be easy to forget or even withhold. But we need you to remain steadfast with your tithes and offerings.  Your generosity supports ministries and missionaries both local and around the world. So please stay faithful with your giving.  You can do so by mail to the church office. Some of you have asked about online giving, making it easier and safer to do. We will be releasing information for online giving in the next coming days.

We have had so many people joining our online services, and it is incredible what God is doing. In the meantime please stay connected, to not only us, but also the Word of God. The bible tells us in Romans 12:2 that we must not “conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed” by the renewing of our minds. Abide and rest in the Lord; contemplate Him. Now it is time for the Lord to communicate with you. Listen. Enter into a deeper place with God. A place of intimacy; in His presence.
